Why "Wapiti"?

The name Wapiti comes from the Indigenous word commonly used to describe elk, one of North America's most majestic and resilient animals.

The wapiti symbolizes strength, endurance, and a strong connection to the natural world. These qualities mirror the values that guide our company today.

From the very beginning, we wanted a name that reflected not only the wilderness of Canada but also the respect we have for nature and the wildlife that shares these landscapes with us.

Inspired by Northern Ontario

Wapiti Woodland Essence was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, a place where nature is never far away.

Surrounded by forests, rivers, Lake Superior, and the rugged beauty of the Canadian Shield, we are constantly inspired by the world around us. The changing seasons, fresh northern air, and quiet strength of the wilderness influence everything from our product formulations to our brand identity.

Many of our scents and collections are inspired by moments that are familiar to anyone who calls the North home:
